Bugs, Butterflies & Gardening
Engineering Practices: design and build seed sprouts baggies to demonstrate the beginning stage of a plant’s life cycle.
Life Science – Structures & Ecosystems: Observe insect anatomy and pollinators, decorate your own butterfly!
Grades K-5th
DIY Chemistry: Make your own paint!
Physical Science: Students will investigate the properties of their materials and interactions.
ELA Reading Writing Communication: Students will draft written observations, using descriptive language. Students will draw diagrams of experiment steps.
Mathematics: Students will use measuring cups to mix ingredients, applying simple data recording and classification
Grades K-5th
Fun With Mirrors and Reflections!
Physical Science: Students will investigate how light reflects off surfaces, and explore angles of incidence and reflection, while observing patterns and angels with multiple mirrors.
Visual Arts: Students will express creativity through mirror based art – exploring and observing the interplay of light and symmetry, painting and designing reflective surfaces.
Grades K-5th
Simple Machines: Make your own catapults!
Physical Science: Students will explore how force and motion depend on angles and weights designing and testing models of catapults.
Engineering Practices: Students will engage in designing, modifying, and testing a simple machine.
Mathematics: Students will measure angles, distances, and weights.
Program Details
- Length: 60 minutes
- Cost: $200 per class
- Discounts available for multiple class presentations and Title I Schools

*Each program accommodates a maximum of 30 students for Pre-K and kindergarten classes, or 35 students in grades 1st through 5th.
*Program availability dependent upon staff and resources.
