WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED? HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?
We are considered an EMERGING MUSEUM. This means we do NOT have a physical location, there is NO cost (unless a certain event has one) & we do not hold STEADY hours (at least not at our office). Because of this, we do all of our outreach and education within the community! So be sure to check out the calendar and find out where we will be next!!
WHEN WILL THE NEXT EXHIBIT OPEN?
Good question! We are working on our next steps right now, but in the meantime, please visit us at an event around town. Here’s the calendar!
DO YOU OFFER BIRTHDAY PARTIES?
Yes! We offer a 30-45 minute birthday party program that can be done in a home or private party venue. To learn more about our birthday party options, click here.
DO YOU HAVE PROGRAMS FOR GROUPS?
We typically do offer programs to groups. However, we have taken a year off to evaluate and restructure our museum, so we will not be offering any group programs until the FALL 2018-2019 school year.
WHERE WILL THE MUSEUM BE LOCATED?
Good question! 35% of children’s museums are part of downtown revitalization programs, and we would love to be part of such a renaissance in Colorado Springs. While we think a downtown location would be great, other great locations would also be South Colorado Springs, either the east or west part of town. We are of course open to locations, however, we would like to remain more south so all of our families in Colorado Springs has access to the museum.
WHEN WILL THE PERMANENT MUSEUM OPEN?
We’d love to open a permanent facility but, in reality, it will take a lot to open a museum. You can help by supporting the museum financially or with your time, encouraging your favorite local businesses to support us, telling your friends and neighbors about the museum, talking about us on social media, and joining us at events around the community!
WHAT WILL THE MUSEUM’S FOCUS BE?
The S.T.E.A.M subjects (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) will certainly be part of the permanent museum. However, we believe a case can be made for broadening the museum’s subject base to include literature, history, geography, culture, and music. The more variety of subjects we can offer to the children of the Pikes Peak Region, the more opportunities we will have to enrich their lives and our community as a whole. Beyond the subjects covered, we want the museum to be a dynamic, hands-on, engaging, and fun educational experience. We want it to be a place where children will encounter boundless opportunities for discovery and imagination. We want it to spark a passion for life-long learning, to nurture wonder and creativity, and to encourage children’s innate desire to explore the world around them. We see our community’s children’s museum as a potentially indispensable resource for children, families, the community, and elementary-level educators.
HOW CAN I DONATE? WHAT WILL MY DONATION BE FOR?
If you are interested in donating, feel free to reach out to us first. That way we can talk with you, learn more about you and how you want to help specifically and speak about your plans for the future and where we currently need assistance. If you would like to donate, you can learn more about donating on our DONATE PAGE. Otherwise, feel free to fill out the DONATION FORM found here! This form will allow for a (1) time donation or monthly reoccurring donation! Currently, donations help with our daily operation costs and programming. These donations currently help to keep the day to day activities working smoothly. And for programming, this helps us to continue to be able to do our favorite part! Reach out to the community at large through community events, special events, mobile curriculum, birthday party programs, camps, and more!
