Our Board of Directors
Marie Maurizio, President – Marie graduated with a degree in International Business and Management from Dickinson College and spent 14 years working in Nonprofit Finance in Philadelphia. After moving to Colorado in 2017, she joined the Board of PPCM and began working towards a Master’s degree in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics. She is the mother of three beautiful children.
Dara Bender, Vice President of New Museum Development – Dara graduated with a degree in Counseling from Oral Roberts University and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Educational Technology & Leadership. Her work background consists of Nonprofit outreach as well as education. She is a teacher and has taught both middle school science and elementary. She is a military spouse and moved to Colorado Springs in July 2018 with her husband, Brian, and three energetic teenagers.
Lindsey Cherry, Vice President of Marketing and Events – Lindsey graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Adams State College and has called Colorado Springs home since 2005. Lindsey started working in the nonprofit world 4 years ago and found her true passion. She wanted to be a bigger part of giving back to her community and joined the board of PPCM in March 2018. She also volunteers with other local organizations and enjoys running 5ks for charity. In her free time, you can catch her spending it with her husband and two sons and enjoying the great outdoors Colorado has to offer.
Cathy Michopolous, Vice President of Finance –
Annette Bone, Secretary – Annette graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University and spent 13 years working for Air Force Child Development Centers as a Training and Curriculum Specialist. She has served young children as a preschool teacher, and older children as a substitute teacher for grades K-5. Annette has supported PPCM since 2016, providing valuable hands-on art instruction through its art outreach program. She has lived in Colorado Springs since 2002. She is married to her husband Brian and loves being a mother to her son.
Amanda Hubbell, Controller – Amanda brings her accounting education and more than 20 years of experience in non-profit management and leadership to PPCM. Her high standards and attention to detail benefit the business operations. She is currently pursuing the Colorado State CPA license and will graduate with her MBA in 2020.
Susan Harley –
Nohea March – Nohea has been in Colorado Springs for 10 years with her partner and their four young boys. Nohea first volunteered with PPCM in 2012 and subsequently joined the Board in 2017. With a background in marketing and events, Nohea has been the primary organizer for Noon Year’s Eve from 2015-2018. She brings energy and enthusiasm to the museum, while providing value to the community through its outreach activities.
Cathy Van De Casteele – Cathy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Colorado College. A former 5th grade teacher, she now spends her days raising her 4 children, volunteering at her children’s school and serving part-time as a Children’s Pastor at Wayfarer Chapel.
